AP Statistics –Project 1

For this project, you will type a 1-2 page report on two recent news stories involving statistical analysis (found on the website stats.org).

                                                                                                                            

Here are the requirements:

 

1.            Go to www.stats.org.

2.            Read the first two articles in the STATS INVESTIGATIVE UNIT section:

    1. Republicans are Stupid…
    2. Controversial Italian Scientist Says Splenda Causes Cancer

3.            Summarize each article: What was it about? What were the conclusions?

4.            State any misuses of statistics that you feel were mentioned in each article.

5.            Also write what you feel about the topic: What is your opinion on this study/article?

6.            The project will be worth 10 points and will be judged on completeness, organization and neatness. Take pride in your work.

 

 

Note: You will need to save your work in your period’s Project 1 folder inside the AP Stat folder on the network, using your name as the file name.
